Most people didn’t like SuperS for its turn to comedy after the seriouse Smart. But I liked it and this DV has some of the funnier episodes.
Six episodes with the Amazon Quartet as the nemesis of the Sailor Soldiers. The Amazon Quartet are some of the most moving villians in the Sailor Moon series since they embody innocence and cruelty often at the same time. Each episode is about someone with her dream symbolized by a dream mirror. It is piquant that when the character has her dream mirror knocked out of her, the character becomes plain. I order that is what happens when someone’s dream is lost, the person is tranquil alive but yet tedious since all passions are knocked out of her.
Incidentally, the Japanese vow actress that played Sailor Moon also voiced Agent Excel in the Excel Saga.

Say this for “Crank,” it definitely isn’t insensible. And it is certainly fresh and mettlesome. It is also ridiculous and will not enjoy up under any scrutiny. I, however, dismiss all logical criticisms of this movie, and any like it, with a wave of the hand. This movie exists solely to pop, rock and shock the audience. It is counterfeit, over the top, ridiculous and snide. And that is precisely why it is one of the freshest, funniest and best pure action flicks in a long while. Clear there are more studied and complex action thrillers out there, but this is the most fun, junk-action pic this side of “Road House” and its cult action ilk. Not honest a uninteresting campfest though, mind you; oh it’s certainly none too brainy, but it has aspirations to shock and thrill beyond unprejudiced having a bunch of guys shoot at each other or demolish cars into things. There is a lot of that here, but the scenarios that spawn such things have to be seen to be believed. Ditto this movie. Everything here is taken to another level. Logical restrictions be damned. And the movie, and audience, is better for it.

There is, of course, already a movie called “Rush,” and a terrific one at that; but had the title not been taken, this film would personify truth in advertising had it been able to employ it. In a site similar to the Keaue Reeves VS the bus classic, hitman and all around bad-a*s (we know this because he grimaces and talks in one of those threatening whispers ala Clint Eastwood and Steven Seagal) Jason Statham is injected with a virus known as “The Beijing Cocktail” that will explode his heart if its rate drops too obscene. You can only imagine all the different things he uses to preserve his heart rate consistently above average: from waffle irons to nasal inhalers, deliberators to public sex, surfing atop motorcycles to jumping out of windows, the movie takes the `everything but the kitchen sink approach’ and exploits the tubby potential of this curious premise, accurate up to its climax, which manages to feel truly bizarre, even for a movie in which you belief you’ve seen everything that could possibly arrive off as bizarre already. Yep, it unbiased keeps on pushing those genre conventions.
Statham is respectable in a role that basically requires him to play the transporter again, although he loses his wintry far more often in this film and spews far more expletives. However, if one were to imagine the Transporter’s reaction to being injected with this type of poison, this is delicate great how we would inquire his reaction, and the film, to play out. Amy Shiny is edifying too in a minimalist role. Strong, stylish direction helps. If you’re movie is essentially a cartoon already, cartoonish staging of the action is heavenly powerful a key to making it work. The film is in on its beget joke, which is a well-behaved thing. Rather than sell any of this as plausible, everyone keen simply goes with it.

As worthy as I dug this film, it admittedly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. However, if you are someone who complains that action movies have become too generic, here’s a mountainous expose for you.
“Crank” is often laugh-out-loud silly, jaw-on-the-floor intrepid, and also manages to wring suspense out of its many halt calls, and it never forgets to throw in a surprise here and there to withhold things bewitching.
Sounds like a five-star action pic to me.
(This DVD includes a feature called “family agreeable audio” which, according to the description on the serve of the DVD jacket, allows the viewer to “delight in the film without the usual expletives.” This might be a gigantic feature for a romantic comedy or a drama of some educational value that you may want the kids to recognize and fair wish there were a few unnecessary expletives blurted out, but on this movie this feature is as ridiculously humorous as the film itself. Yeah, block out the direct words for the kids, but let them witness all the sex, nudity, and violence. There is no procedure to fabricate a movie like this family advantageous (and it should not be – that is one of its main allures) . If you are a parent and all you care about is that your child does not hear some depraved language, but the rest of the stuff they are going to stare in films like this is okay, then you seriously have your priorities screwed up. So, I’m not clear why this feature is here. It unbiased stuck me as so ridiculously unfamiliar and pointless I had to point it out (I’m clear others who peer this will be thinking the same) . But it’s one more stamp that in everything apt down to the film’s DVD technical features, “Crank” is an absurd, hilarious action classic.)
Just to second what others have said, flawless. This really is a perfect transfer. The sharpest, cleanest report, when the film is meant to be intelligent and smart, of any Blu-ray disc I have seen. Even the picture-in-picture commentary looks unbelievable. For just now at least, ‘Crank’ is the king of the hill of live-action high definition.

I do this video in when my rather gigantic pooch was being especially hyper and decided to sit and stare to recognize how he reacted. At first he kind of freaked out, placing his nose directly up against the TV camouflage, wondering what and where those noises were coming from. After a few minutes, he stepped away a tiny but eyes peaceful fixed on the hide and ears straight up listening intently. After another few minutes, he decided to lie down — but serene completely attentive – listening to the sounds and watching the imagery. He didn’t produce it all the method through the video before he fell asleep, but I was amazed. Not only have I never seen a dog seek television before, this video completely held his attention and calmed him down. Heck, I enjoyed watching it with him myself. I highly recommend this product and it performs as advertised.

I was very satisfied with this dvd. My two Maltese puppies, ages 8 and 5 months savor the dvd. I was more surprised that our 11 year passe Astronomical Pyrenees also likes the dvd. My wife and I are gone for work and school for many hours and anything which entertains our dogs is greatly appreciated. I would recommend that any dog owners give this dvd a try.

Liam Neeson stars in a dank slight shocker of seamy sex and violence. If you enjoyed the gleaming underbelly of Los Angeles in the ’50’s as strikingly portrayed in ‘LA CONFIDENTIAL’ you may devour this star turn for Neeson space in England in 1959. Neeson portrays an ex-cop, Tony Aaron, turned private glance who makes the rent my staging acts of infidelity between his actress wife and edifying British society. Seems ’50’s England was definitely a fault based divorce system and Neeson shags the cash photoing his wife in bed with Barristers and other men desirous of shedding the worn marital ball and chain. He then perjures himself testifying to the infidelity so that the elite can receive a divorce. The paint hits the canvas one cool rainy night when an international artist hits the sheets in yet another photo op with the begin minded Mrs. Aaron and they are both found blasted and bloody in dawn’s early light by the apprehensive and demoralized PI. The suspects are; Neeson’s character Tony, the artist’s lover Angeline played confusingly by San Giacomo, and the artist’s bitter aroused wife. Neeson’s character investigates the murders aided by his traditional police partner and during the film beds the mistress, is beaten senseless by the police, is convicted of the murders and sentenced to hang . Can’t issue you considerable more than that without ruining this suspenseful character glimpse. Neeson is extraordinary, complex and expressionless on hot. San Giacomo is too young for the piece, looks unfocussed and dejected in the period dress and doesn’t generate the kind of heat that is principal to be believeable. She’s no Kim Bassinger. The R-rating is the result of the adult, tight, complex petite residence that includes; scenes of Neeson’s character Aaron a buff, a double homicide cancel scene and the graphic enactment of a shotgun suicide. If you’re over 18 and looking for film noir area in somewhere other than LA check out ‘Under Suspicion’.
I finally got around to watching this movie last night, and I have to say it was really a lot of fun. It is position in England, and is actually filmed there as well (instead of, say, Toronto) . It covers two time periods, one older and one new, and sets up a very compelling destroy mystery. You won’t spy the kill coming, and yet you’ll totally acquire it when you gawk it. That’s a combination that is very difficult to pull off.

*This version of “Hellsing” has favorable imagery and graphics. It includes a lot of computer-generated-imagery, but none of it looks too hoaky or out-of-place. It is definately high quality animation.
*Excellent amount of bloody action. Contains even more violence and action than volume 1. Mild has some comedy to it. Also starts to introduce the presence of the Millennium group.
*Storyline is gigantic. It is very very finish to the novel manga.
*Characters are dazzling. All of the main characters are collected big, and Alucard shows more impressive powers than before. The butler Walter is wintry and has some background to him. The Valentine Brothers are flipping awesome.

*If you grasp the single-disc version, you derive limited or no special features. The two-disc steelbook edition (although more expensive) includes a minute wealth of interviews and textless credit scenes.
This second volume continues with the top-notch, intense, and fast-paced sage of volume 1. It even manages to be even more involving. If you have seen volume 1 and enjoyed it, volume 2 is a must-have.

First, let’s positive up one fact, this is NOT Claymation.It is End MOTION animation. Claymation has figures made of clay that are filmed one frame at a time. Close motion has 3 dimentional puppets that are provocative one frame at a time like the Ray Harryhousen figures in King Kong, Jason and the Argonaughts etc. There is a colossal differance in the techniques.
This fact aside, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” is the very best of the astounding Rankin/Bass specials. The designer for the series of holiday specials, Paul Coker, has done an exceptional job with these delicious wooden and plastic creations. We study Kris Kringle develope from a foundling baby to the Santa figure so well known today. Each stage of his development is fabulous. But then, each of the characters is designed and executed perfectly. Discover the palatable changes of the Winter Worlock from mean and cross to mellow and fun.
All the animation is peaceful and genuine giving the helpful illusion that these figures are actually alive.

The songs are obliging, from the familiar “Santa Claus is Coming To Town” to the splendid “My World Is Beginning Today” sung by Jessica, the future Mrs. Santa. (For some weird reason, this delectable song is often nick when this production is shown on TV, luckily it is included in the tape.)
The script couldn’t be better giving explanations for most of the Santa legends such as how he got his name, how reindeer can soar, why he comes down chimneys and fills stockings. It can obtain a believer out of even Ebenezer Scrooge.
This has been my absolute well-liked Christmas video since I first saw it many years ago on TV. It was one of the reasons I bought my first VCR so I could invent a tape of it before it was commercially available. I even have an musty LP recording of the complete exhibit. So, do I recommend it, the acknowledge is a resounding YES!!!!!
“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” (Rankin/Bass Productions, 1970) is a right Christmas classic. A quintessential “animagic” or “clay-mation” production, it features the talents of Fred Astaire (who narrates the anecdote as postman Special Delivery Kluger), Mickey Rooney (Kris Kringle), Keenan Wynn (Winter Warlock), and Paul Frees (Burgermeister Meisterburger) . Frees is absolutely colorful as the mumble of the Burgermeister of the village of Sombertown, which presumably is in Scandinavia. In brief, the film explains the origins of various aspects of the epic of Santa Claus through an new chronicle. People of all ages will luxuriate in “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town.” Children will appreciate the animation and the sage. The rest of us be pleased that as well as the hilarious moments when Kris Kringle expresses surprise (peep his eyes swell to giant coal-black circles!) . For anyone who grew up in the 1970s or 1980s, this is a gem of the pop culture of our time. It’s highly recommended for anyone who has enjoyed other Rankin/Bass classics such as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “The Tiny Drummer Boy.”

I’m not posting this review in order to discuss death imprint specifically, rather, I want to distinct up some inaccuracies in the item description and the description given in the first review so that customers can construct a more informed select. INVASION OF ASTRO MONSTER, is by any other name MONSTER ZERO, or GODZILLA VS MONSTER ZERO. INVASION OF ASTRO MONSTER is the “International title” that Toho gave to KAIJU DAISENSO, released in 1965. It was then acquired for release via AIP and Henry G. Saperstein(the producer) in 1966, and he parted ways with AIP and region out for his maintain distribution. That didn’t happen until 1970 from Maron Films, a slight indie release company and it was re-titled MONSTER ZERO and double-billed in roadshow fashion with WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS and did brisk business from slow summer to Plunge at drive-ins and theaters at the time. The film stars Cut Adams and was released in the US, two years after his untimely and sad death. Detached, MONSTER ZERO/INVASION OF ASTRO MONSTER remains one of the best ever of the Toho Godzilla sequels, the last one where all the major talents at Toho were in play to fabricate a knockout film that flies along at a righteous clip. It has everything-alien invasion, monsters, and a savor legend. Interestingly, the monster side of things actually takes a help seat to a fairly though-provoking human narrative(there are only really 10 or 12 minutes of unique monster footage) . The FX work is perhaps Eiji Tsuburaya’s best as is the catch by Akira Ifukube. This version is exactly the same as MONSTER ZERO-same title sequence, however a fresh title card for INVASION is seen. All the dubbing was the same, and in fact the film has three minutes of footage not seen in the US version. One is the alien Controller saying something in his native language as the earth ship leaves, another is a ravishing nifty FX shot looking up at Godzilla and Rodan being transported through the atmosphere by the Xian saucers, and smooth another shot has what appears to be an un-processed(sound) shot of Akira Takarada saying something like “I’ve got a poor feeling about this” in Japanese, to Prick Adams who responds in English “Talk to me about it pal”. Terrific film in any language!!

Classic Media has to be applauded for the worry not only given to presenting the best versions of INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER possible (and they truly are some of best I’ve seen in a long, long while), but also the work that went into the case get. The box is striking, the artwork clever, definite, nostaligc and retro-future at all the same time. It’s an magnificent and look catching originate that demands (and gets) a second recognize. My copy has been picked up, picked over, and pick-pocketed a few times off my shelf already and throughly enjoyed.
But, having said that, I must admit that INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER is one of my least celebrated GODZILLA films, yet one of my all time celebrated TOHO movies. Truth be told, Godzilla here is at best a supporting player in a mighty larger and more complex yarn that could have done away with Godzilla and company and tranquil have been unprejudiced as compelling. Grand like THE FIFTH ELEMENT fashion and effect triumph over legend and residence. This is one agreeable looking movie. From the sets (wide inaugurate, with some of the most creative future computer and advanced table top technology), to the costumes (the aliens not only sport the expected antenna atop the head, but tight pants, dapper sunglasses, and high useless collars), to the spaceships (which peep exactly like spaceships should discover), it’s all here, and it’s all a lot of fun.

It is something of a minor disappointment that Godzilla has been pushed to the margins here and feeble simply for attain than being the engine that drives the chronicle. Godzilla, Rodan and King Ghidorah do loom enormous on the glowing minature sets on both PLANET X and Earth, and their battles are worth the long delay between the first and the last, but it does leave you wanting more. But, this does not conclude INVASION OF ASTRO-MONSTER being a factual gem.
The prints are the best possible and the extras are well done… although the commentary by Stuart Galbraith IV, while informative, fact filled and trivia stuffed is delivered in such a dumb and measured design, that it sounds and feels like he’s in fright of tripping over his maintain words if he talks too rapidly. Be prepared to feel like a five year primitive at some points when he wants to to Understand. Clearly. What. He. Is. Saying. To. You. So. You. Had. Better. Listen. While peculiar, it is a travel, and you will learn a thing or two.
Classic Media has done a gargantuan service to not only the fans of Godzilla, but to all those fans composed to near. These DVD releases, like King Ghidorah, manages to wear three crowns and wear them well… they are piquant, history and art all rolled into one.
